Hi! My name is Jamin Taylor and I live in Eagle River, Alaska. This blog is my personal studies into the Word of God. Digging into the Word is like digging for buried treasure. I do not consider myself a teacher, rather, I simply want to share what I have discovered, in the hopes that it is edifying and encouraging to whoever may read it. I don't claim to have it all figured out, and my essays are not above correction. I do not want anyone taking what I write and making beliefs out of them. And I don't want anyone just taking my word for it. We are instructed to test everything and hold fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21). I only ask you to consider what I present in this blog and search out the matters for yourself. 
Perhaps we can even reason together. 

My theology has changed a lot in the last four years. I look at the Bible now more through the lens of Hebrew and Jewish culture. After all, it was written by Hebrews, from a Hebraic culture, to a Hebrew people, with Hebrew religion as it's subject matter. Therefore it benefits us to examine the Word through that lens. We do ourselves disservice by reading the scriptures and interpreting it through our own cultural viewpoint and understanding. So let's put on our Jewish glasses and read our Bibles!

It is always my goal to point to Messiah. The point of my writings is never to promote works-based salvation. Salvation is a gift of God. It is by grace, through faith, and is the work of God nothing more. But how then shall we live as believers in the God of Israel? What sets us apart from the world? What behaviors make us lawful citizens in His Kingdom? And how is His Kingdom come on this earth, in our lives? These are the questions that I hope to search out the answers to. 

And it certainly is time for us to ask ourselves some tough questions concerning our faith. Too many christians don't know why they believe the things they claim to. Basing their faith upon what their pastors have told them, but failing to search the matter out for themselves or test those things to the Word. Let's set aside our presuppositions, our dogma's and our own understandings and look afresh at the Word of God from the beginning to the end. Let's challenge ourselves to prove out our faith, and test what we think we know. Let's dig deeper. I invite you to join me in digging, in questioning, in proving, in searching, and most importantly, in learning from His Word.

Jason Kewin
Jason has been my friend for several years now. We met at the fellowship I now attend every Friday night. He is not only extremely knowledgeable of the Hebraic context of the Bible but has also demonstrated a lot of wisdom and strength as he walks out his faith. He makes sure what I post here on this blog is not off in left field and that my grammar and spelling is correct.  Jason keeps me honest and accountable. 

Chris Pope
Chris is a friend I met online who has demonstrated a sound mind, and Biblical literacy. He studies Ancient Near Eastern culture and context to better understand the culture and religion that the Bible is set in. He works with several others on the website www.torahbabies.com. Chris keeps me accountable to Biblical context and culture. 

Krista Tanis
Krista is another good friend from my home fellowship who helps me on this blog with grammar and spelling. She has a heart and passion for the Master Yeshua and a hunger for His Word and Kingdom in her life. She is married to my friend and brother in the Lord Joseph Tanis. I appreciate their friendship and fellowship a great deal and value the time Krista puts into ironing out all my spelling and grammor mistakes.
